My friend Nate Bolt said it best this morning: “I don’t know if I ever want to leave, and I don’t think I can stay any longer.” That’s how I’m feeling right about now. Not to say I haven’t had an amazing ride. From working with the team at Mashable to being inspired by Natalie Villalobos, who is using Google Maps and Square technology to save a chunk of the rainforest, I’ve seen how the best and brightest work together to leave an indelible mark on the world.

24 Hours in Austin
This is my first time performing guest blogger duty and I couldn’t be more thrilled with the opportunity to contribute to local social bible Republic of Austin. I need to correct the person who asked me to contribute, however. Chris Apollo Lynn and I did meet at a WordPress party but it was many, many years ago. That being said, he is one of the few people I’ve felt comfortable developing an online friendship with since we have so many incredible friends in common.
Click below to read about a day in Austin starring, among other things, the pandemonium at the SXSW convention center, 4-Hour Workweek author Tim Ferris, Pete Cashmore, The MashBash, Beauty Bar, and a movie theater that allows you to order whatever you’d like. This has been an amazing trip and it’s not even halfway over yet.

So Many Reasons to Fall in Love with Austin…
If I didn’t or couldn’t live in San Francisco, I’d probably establish a permanent residence in Austin. While more akin to Berkeley than SF, it has many charming qualities including warm, friendly people, affordable housing, beautiful weather, and an abundance of healthy + incredibly affordable food.
Before I hit up my first SXSW event last night, I made sure to tag along with a friend I met, while we both lived in San Francisco, who is now an Austin native. She always has a knack of being in-the-know when it comes to the best spots or hidden gems and I got to experience a few of them today…
