Shop Gilt Free

Gilt's home page.

I’ve been meaning to write about Gilt, an online luxury retail site that offers discounts up to 70% off original prices from top-shelf designers, for quite a while now as I’ve had access for nearly a month. However, what inspired me to create a brand new account for this blog (and offer my readers an invite to try it for themselves) is one of the most genuine and generous members of the San Francisco community, Andrew Mager.

Highlights from THREAD Show SF

Custom painted Nikes from Demise Apparel.

I went to a private Catholic High School in the East Bay Area suburbs and was required to wear a uniform four days per week. On “Free Dress Friday,” students were allowed to wear anything they wanted (within reason, of course). Marc by Marc Jacobs on Fillmore

Wallets and clutches come in an assortment of shapes, sizes, and prices.

If I need to find a chic outfit for a special occasion, like an upcoming bachelorette party in Vegas, or birthday/thank you gifts, I usually stop into Marc by Marc Jacobs on Fillmore. The funky accessories including heart-shaped compact mirrors for $5, neon totes that remind me of the Benetton ones during childhood, and clutches as low as $16 make you feel a little less guilty about picking up an item or two on the racks. The distinctive, beautifully intricate patterns that constitute Marc Jacobs’ clothing render decision making and self-control quite a difficult feat.

♪ ♫ Raindrops Keep Fallin’ on My Head ♫

This morning, I was woken up by a car alarm that just randomly went off. Of course, the first thing I did was grab my iPhone off the nightstand to see what time it was. When it read 6:15 am, I groaned and tried, in vain, to fall back asleep. When that didn’t work, I checked my Twitter feed and discovered some of my friends were doing an early morning workout….in the rain. Motivated, I rolled out of bed and followed suit.
